Green-Winged Teal Art
I’ve always loved spotting a green-winged teal…small, quick, and often tucked just out of sight along the edges of wetlands. While I was working on this piece (like literally while my iPad was in my lap and Apple pencil in hand), I got a text from my bonus-daughter asking me to identify a bird she was viewing… and I was shocked to see it was a green-winged teal!! What timing!
For this collection, I didn’t reference any particular pond or creek flora. Instead, I focused more on pulling from its rich, earthy color palette and letting that guide the designs. The result is a set of patterns that feel connected through tone and mood rather than literal subject matter.
I especially love how everything comes together in the fabric mockups. The colors really settle in and the collection starts to feel like it belongs in a real-world setting.
This collection includes a hero illustration along with coordinating patterns designed for fabric, home decor, and product applications.
Of course I had to give this duck its own stamp treatment to join the other ducks I have in my duck stamp collection! Click HERE to see them.
